1933
Our company's roots sprung from the ashes of prohibition and the resurgence of the American wine industry. It all began with a single chemist based out of Berkeley, California.

1934
The University of California at Berkeley donates its wine yeast collection to the fledgling business. The company was named "The Berkeley Yeast Laboratory".

1933 - 1963
Advances through these years centered on meeting industry demand for innovative solutions to winemaking and brewing. Fining agents such as Sparkolloid were developed as well as the production of the first American plastic champagne cork.

1964
Rapid expansion of the company begins with its purchase by Robert Scott. Ground is broken for a new Richmond, California facility, greatly expanding capacity.

1965
The company's name is changed to Scott Laboratories Inc. which reflects the broadening range of the company as well as the new location and ownership.

1969
Scott Laboratories Ltd. is opened in 1969 in Ontario, Canada to service the growing Canadian and eastern United States market.

1986
Scott Laboratories Inc. moves into its current facility in Petaluma, California. This location was chosen for its close proximity to the California wine industry. The new facility houses expanded processing and warehousing as well as offices and laboratories to accommodate a larger technical staff.

2003
A second Petaluma facility is opened to house the new packaging materials processing plant. This state of the plant has allowed for more efficient distribution and heightened Quality Assurance. Simultaneously warehousing and cold storage were expanded at the original Petaluma facility.
