Tom Anders

Tom celebrated his 30th anniversary at Scott in 2003. Prior to coming to Scott he earned a BS degree in Biology from Marquette University and worked as a microbiologist/ chemist at Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tom is involved with all products offered and enjoys the experiences of direct customer contact.

Peter Anderson
Sales Representative

Peter has over twenty-five years of experience in the wine industry, beginning as a lab technician for Beringer Vineyards, where he eventually become the production manager. Peter transitioned to the other side of the desk in the mid-eighties with a jump to winery sales after a brief stint in the dairy business. He brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of wine production from the grape to the bottle.

Andre Austin
Sales Representative

A Sonoma County native, Andre has worked for Scott Laboratories since January 1995, when he joined us after a year working at Chalk Hill Winery. Before that, he spent a year on the island of Kauai attempting to pursue a surfing/beach bum career. Originally schooled as an electrician, Andre started working at Scott as a technician. He installed and serviced equipment for five years before joining the sales force as a representative for the Central California Coastal regions. He now lives in Paso Robles with wife, Jennifer, and three year old son, Lukas. His interests include surfing, snow skiing, cabinet and furniture making, the S.F. Giants and, of course, drinking wine with family and friends.

Ira Cohen
Sales Representative

Ira Cohen is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and was instrumental in establishing a viable wine program at the school. He comes to us with over 15 years of sales and management experience on the distribution side of the wine business.  

Bob Fithian
Vice President Packaging Sales
Bob began his career in the wine industry as sales administrator for Glass Container Corporation in 1968, a major producer of glass items for food, beverage and wine bottles. Eight years later he moved into outside customer sales covering all wine and mineral water glass accounts. In August of 1984, Bob joined Scott Laboratories, Inc. covering customer sales in the Napa Valley. His current responsibilities include the coordination of packaging sales for Scott working with our sales representatives, customers and suppliers, while handling large local account and national account responsibilities. Bob continues to enjoy his career in the wine industry finding it challenging and exciting.

Jeff Heacock
Sales Representative
New England, East Coast south into Virginia, Ohio Valley, Tennessee
Jeff received his BS in food technology from Colorado State College. He has spent more than 25 years serving Scott Laboratories' customers by helping in solving fermentation, filtration, and processing challenges. Jeff is a hands-on salesman with particular skills in working with smaller customers. He currently resides in upper-state New York.

Jessica Just
Sales Representative
Eastern Washington, British Colombia, Northern Rockies
After brewing her first batch of beer at the age of 14, Jessica Just has continued to pursue her passion for all things fermentation. An Oregon native, Jessica is the first female graduate of the Fermentation Science program at Oregon State University where she received both a B.S. and M.S. Among other topics, her research included the attributes of wine consumption during a meal that protect against food poisoning. Jessica joined Scott Laboratories in 2002 for inside technical support and product management of lysozyme and Velcorin. She moved to Walla Walla, Washington in late 2004 as a full-time outside sales representative.

Rick Mafit

Our northwest representative, Rick Mafit, has been working in the wine industry since 1980. With an Enology degree from UC Davis in 1981, Rick brings years of production experience to the Scott Laboratories team. Since joining Scott in 1990 he has grown with the burgeoning northwest wine scene. Today, Rick continues to offer expert advice from a regional perspective.

Kevin Woodling

After several years in wine distribution sales, Kevin joined Scott laboratories after the 2004 harvest.  Kevin lives in Clayton, CA with wife, Rhonda and son, Jason where he regularly convinces his neighbors to roll up their pant legs and stomp grapes.

Martin Worsdall
Packaging Sales

Martin hails from England where he worked in hard cider production. Arriving in California in 1994, he spent three years in quality control at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars before moving into sales. Martin joined Scott Laboratories in 2000 specializing in packaging sales. His blend of production, quality control and sales experience allows him serve to his clients well.

Maggie McBride
Lab Manager
Maggie McBride joined Scott Laboratories on June 14, 2006 to continue on for Kent Sakato who retired mid-July after working 29 years for Scott Laboratories.
Maggie came from Lambert Bridge lab and has had rigorous lab experience at both Beringer and the Sonoma Wine Company. Her broad knowledge of wine chemistry as well as her experience with a diverse set of winemaking techniques create a perfect fit for the Scott wine lab.
While continuing to service the industry with traditional offerings, Maggie and the laboratory will work to deliver more analysis for specific winemaking scenarios such as stuck fermentations, nightmare filtrations and specialized fining needs.
