Petaluma, Calif., May 25, 2010 -- Scott Laboratories Inc. announces that it will introduce a proprietary line of enological tannins for the 2010 harvest. The new Scott’TanTM tannins are the result of a unique development process aimed at creating products specifically for North American needs and requirements.
“For many years the selection of tannins offered to winemakers in our market have been generally ‘off the shelf’ products designed with Europe or Australia in mind,” said Bruce Scott, president of Scott Laboratories Inc. “We saw this project as a chance for change. Absolutely nothing in our line is ‘off the shelf’. Everything has been done with a focus on North America.”
The new enological tannin range will feature six fermentation tannins (including a 100 percent grape skin tannin) as well as five cellaring and finishing tannins. The tannins compliment Scott’s already wide range of cellar and fermentation items including products from Pall, Lallemand, Anchor, Proenol, Bioseutica, Institut Oenologique de Champagne (IOC), plus Scott’s proprietary enzymes (Scottzymes) and fining agents (Sparkolloid).
