Laboratory Sample Label

The original component of the Scott Laboratories was the laboratory itself. The tradition of accurate analysis for the beverage industry continues to this day. In addition to laboratory analysis we offer specialized laboratory equipment and supplies suited for the wine and beer maker.

Information and Instructions

Wine/Juice/Spirits Analysis

Containers
Wine samples should be sent in sealed glass containers. Fermenting juice samples should be
packaged in unbreakable plastic with sufficient head space to allow for CO2 production.

Volume Required
One 250 ml bottle is the minimum volume requirement for chemical analysis. An additional bottle should be included for microbiological or carbon dioxide analysis. A labeled 750 ml bottle is needed for all export analysis. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Holding Time
Wine and spirits for chemical analysis have no holding time limit if they are sealed properly.
Samples for microbiological analysis should be analyzed as soon as possible. Juice samples should be analyzed as soon as possible.

Shipping
Samples may be sent to Scott Laboratories in Petaluma via courier. Do not send alcoholic beverages by U.S. Mail. Enclose instructions for analysis with sample.

Please note: Label all samples clearly and completely. Scott Laboratories will provide sample bottles and analysis labels. Specify tests required and indicate if a faxed or emailed report is desired.
